API improvement: This number shows how many points each school's Academic Performance Index (API) improved between spring 2001 and spring 2002. Improvement numbers are computed by subtracting the 2001 Base API from the 2002 Growth API. Positive numbers in this column indicate that scores on Stanford Achievement Test, ninth edition (Stanford 9), and the California English Language Arts Standards Test increased, while negative numbers show that test scores declined.
